Do 401(a) contributions count against the annual Roth IRA contribution limits? - fica contribution limit
My employer, a FICA Alternative (401) The plan, which is required before taxes from my salary and contributions into a retirement account. I think I have some literature that says that those contributions could play on the contribution limits for the IRA, but can not find any evidence. Can someone help me with this issue?

No, no, whatever. 401a is planned in the social security opt for civil servants. The funds go into the 401A are the ones who went to the SS. The employee and the employer will pay up to 401A at a rate of 6.2% each. If the employer also offers a 401K and the 401, so that the ability could affect in a Roth IRA or another brought. But because the 401st is a private pension system in the security of the Jewish plan of government for retirement security (Social Security), then impact on the ability of the IRA. All state employees and local communities in Alaska do not contribute to Social Security. So far, his appeal to the State of Alaska into account the SBS. The state also has a 401k plus 401A. Instead of putting an IRA if you have a 401 as the first ever disability insurance. I have a friend who worked for the government. Since the officials do not pay social security in 401 is not entitled to a disability pension from Social Security, if he does not have to work due to disability. This is true even if they privious enough for a job paid. Once you are on Social Security can not accept disibility SS If I needed 40 quarters paid into the SS and also had a 401 SS, then you can collect at 67, as well as the 401A, but could not collect SS disibility, If you are covered by this plan 401 C "Therefore, the Government proposes in the 401a plans the opportunity to buy additional disability insurance. Make sure upof disability insurance the first time ... and then to the IRA, if desired. Did not you see how my friend and if you suffer a disability, as it should have been. Trust me on this point.
